I went out to the barn today to ride. I started off by grooming and tacking up Beacon. Then, I rode him up to the ring. I warmed him up walking and trotting by doing some surpentines. To get warmed up at the canter, I did a w/t/c pattern. After i did my pattern, I cantered beacon in a figure eight with a simple lead change in the center (even though I know how to do a flying change) I never warm up with flying changes. Then, i let Beacon walk. Lindsay rode Chloe up and and asked me if I wanted to come up to the far field with her to ride. Of course, I said yes!! So, i walked Beacon around a little bit up there and then started to trot. After I trotted, i changed Direction and trotted the other way. I was a little Nervous but anxious to canter because last time I cantered Beacon in a field, he took off at a full gallop. But, I knew I had to get over that fear. So, i picked up my canter with a tight rein, and then walked after a couple strides. Then, I picked up my canter with a loose rein and canter for a while. It was really fun. I walked Beac around and took him down the barn. Afterwards, I got Rip out. When I was brushing him, Lauren Told me the story of his new show name, "Rumble Strip". haha. "She said that lindsay and Her had always wanted to name a horse Rumble Strip, So Since Rip's Name is Rip, it sorta fits..." I decided I actually liked that name!!! So, i brushed Rip, Picked out his front feet and then I used the rope to do his back feet. Then, i attemped to pick up his back feet. I got him to pick each one of his back feet up with my bare hands 2 times (which was all of the times) and So, on the third try, I picked them out for the first time EVER!!!!! Yeah!!! I was so proud of him. Then, I let him out.
