Update on Leroy: Lately with Leroy I have been continuing to work on keeping his canter slow and balanced. Additionally, I have been focussing on trot jumps with Leroy, keeping him slow and confident to the jumps as well. Saturday October 3, 2009-Today I had a lesson at Eastwood in the morning and rode Star (Chestnut TB). Then later in the afternoon I rode Leroy. In my lesson at Eastwood, we started out doing flat work each direction, double posting, 2pt., sitting trot, canter each direction, and picking a certain point to ask for a simple lead change. Friday October 2, 2009-Today I trailered Bunny over to Quarterline Farm for a lesson to work in the indoor, and just work Bunny in a larger arena. September 28, 2009-Today I rode Leroy at Redwood Farms. Leroy was very well behaved despite the windy weather. I started out by letting Leroy walk around the ring on a loose, relaxed rein. Then I let Leroy go up into the trot. At first Leroy was a bit resistant and distracted, so I did some circles, changes of direction, and transitions. Saturday September 26, 2009-Today I had a lesson on Leroy at Eastwood Farms. At the beginning of the ride we did a lot of circling each direction until Leroy was think and listening to my aids. Then I did some cantering circles and canter to trot transitions. Next once Leroy was at a slow steady canter I took Leroy up over the outside birch single. Wednesday September 16, 2009-Today I rode Bunny at the walk trot ad canter. I worked at first on getting her to mover/give her hip and barrel, once I got bunny all limber and stretched out at the walk we went into the trot. Sunday September 13, 2009-Today I worked bunny at the walk, trot and canter. Today I went out to Eastwood Farms and rode Red (one of the lesson horses) and Leroy. While riding Red I worked him both directions at the trot and canter, I focused on keeping Red off of his forehand. Red was good about his leads and keeping and walk to canter transitions. After grooming Red when I was done riding him I went to groom Leroy. On Sunday and Monday I took bunny and we both stayed overnight at the show grounds so I could get in some extra schooling in the huge arenas at the Grange Fair grounds. Then on Tuesday was the horse show, Bunny placed 1st in Halter, 7th in showmanship, I placed 1st in Jr. Rider English Pleasure, 2nd in pony pleasure, 4th in Hunter hack (out of 23), and 3rd in crossrails, out of about 17! On Friday I had a lesson in the morning on bunny, on the flat we focussed on getting bunny to give her hip, use her back and reach underneath herself at the trot and canter, then maintain her frame with impulsion from behind, and she did great, it felt awesome!! I also did a lot of work with bunny on a circle. Next, we did some jumping, we went over two singles set at 2ft or 2ft 3in, bunny was great her timing to most of the fences was fine, and she got almost all of her flying lead changes!! YA… Continue

On Monday and Tuesday, I worked with bunny on giving to the hip/moving her shoulder + giving to the bit as the warm up, then worked her at the trot getting bunny to give to the bit, reach her hocks underneath herself and keep her head set and carriage more consistent, I also did some circles at the trot to get bunny to pick her shoulder up. After placing first in Hunter Under Saddle Ponies and Hunter Hack Bunny and I qualified for Districts, after doing some warm up, working on everything I had at home, we went in for hunter hack, bunny performed very well, being soft to my rein aids, and she moved out really well, the fences (especially the 1st fence) went well and the stop and back was good too, we ended up placing 2nd (out of 12 or 13?)!! Today I went out to Eastwood and Rode Leroy in a lesson and rode one of their new lesson horses billy. And on Wednesday I had a lesson on bunny out at Redwood. Bunny has been super good Lately! She has been soft and supple, and reaching underneath herself very well at the trot and canter, jumping is going well too, she is starting to get the hang of taking off at the correct time, and improving her form, additionally I have been working on my eq a lot too..here's a video...

Fjords: Fjords are very sweet horses. They have freakin amazing personalities and will do anything to please you. The fjord I lease is Sparta. Everyone told me he is a crappy horse and Fjords are only…
