ugh. . .

So, these past two weeks have been really stinky. . . I've been out to the barn maybe 3 times :( b/c I started my new job last month and i work 4-5 days a week & then school & homework. I'm hoping this will get easier. . . I miss my Keeli.

But the possible good news is that there is a hunter pace right down the road, like maybe a mile away. It will be so much fun if I can do it :) hopefully I can get out to the barn enough to prepare.

Going out tomorrow if it doesn't rain :)

Jumpers, any advise?

Well i'm going to this little local show this weekend & there is this small jumpers class there that my trainer wants to put me in. It's either 2'3 or 2'6 ( probably 2'3 for ponies, so i'll be doing 2'6) It'll be my first time & I just wanted to know if there's any tips from anyone who's been doing it for a while.

it would be greatly appriciated :)

It's My BIRTHDAY :)

I'm so excited. I wish i could ride today though.
It's kind of mucky looking outside so I don't think I would be able to anyway.
I went to the barn monday & spent the night which was really fun because there is a camp going on.
Their going to Champion Saddlery on thursday & getting a present for me & keeli :)
I'm excited to see what it's going to be. I need a new lead rope & one of those huge sponges lol
Anyway... I hope tonight will be fun.

Lately.... (photos included. critique welcome.)

i haven't been able to get out to the barn much. :( Keeli was so fast the first time i rode her in the past three weeks. maybe it was her high energy or maybe it was me pinching, no one will ever know but it was probably me because i hadn't ridden in 3 weeks (so lets just say i was a little rusty)

before i went on vacation...

3 weeks ago i went to carlton farms, which is one of my favorite places to show, & i did 2'6 at a show for the first time. i was so nervous but i only had 2 other peo… Continue

Happy Birthday! Is the mare you are leasing off the track? She's really pretty!

I ride for a local barn that's not connected to my college in any way (other than the fact that the trainer went there). I was afraid that I wouldn't have time to ride, but I've found that I actually have a TON of time...you just have to figure out how to use it.

I think I've jumped Pico up to 2'3", but that was when I first rode him. The owner (the trainer's mother) mentioned something about me being the first to jump him, but I thought she said he had jumped with the daughter. Now I think she might have meant that her daughter had free jumped him, haha, because she's way too tall for him. It makes sense that I was the first to jump him based on his skill level, but I'm not too sure about it....

I might show him later on if his owner wants me to. I would have to go in the non-pony divisions, though, because I turned 18 in February of this year. Showing isn't my biggest priority right now, though, so I might just wait until I go home in the summer to see if my trainer will let me take Rocky to a show or two...

I wasn't able to ride much for the first month or so that I was here (trying to figure out my schedule and everything), so he was a bit of a brat the times I was able to go out. He was being used in walk/trot lessons in the round pen, but then he decided he wanted to run the little girl into the sides of the pen, so he's been pulled from the lesson program for now...he definitely has the pony attitude! The other day I walked away to get my water bottle and when I looked back he had my saddle in his teeth...he then dropped it on the floor and pawed at at, haha. Thankfully he didn't do any damage...

The past few rides have gone really really well. He's been more consistent about picking up the left lead and not wanting to run around like mad when he actually picks it up. I've also started to jump him over more than crossrails since he doesn't really jump those anyway. It's a lot of fun, but I'm still getting into pony mode. He's going to be so cute when he gets put together...I'm excited!

How are you and Keeli doing?

how about you?

yeah, annoying huh? Thanks for looking at the saddle! ahahaha- he has QUITE the personality. After the solid jumps he was so confused about normal arena jumps ahahah, sot solid enough for him I guess. It's the first time going over that is a little interesting, but the second time smoothes out considerable- it doesn't feel like you're going straight up!

That's cool. It wouldn't be Keiffer would it? I was looking at the Bates Elevation H, which looks super nice, though it's loads more expensive than the HDR's. Ick, this girl Ellory was like on my photo "BENCH", "he looks stiff in his left front leg". And she's jumping like 6 inches! Who is she to judge? Seriously.
