hello. im rachel. :)
i absolutely love horses(:
i lease a bay thoroughbred gelding named Almudin.
he is 19, but acts like he is 5. and still jumps pretty high for his age.
trying to jump on him is like jumping a racecar that has a jackhammer in it sometimes.
i used to lease Cody a quarab chestnut. last year on december 10th he passed away. :(
cant wait to hopefully start cross country training next year.

He has jumped 2'6'' in a line befor but knocked it down. One time I was trotting to a two stride line and he jumped the first one and then didn't have enough energy for the next one so he walked over it. Lol. He has always given me a great ride! He always gets his leads right and is very smooth. Smidget is great. Just has been more of her bad self. She unlocked her gate last night and was galloping around in the parking lot and then I went SMIDGEY!! And she stopped in her tracks and then let me grab her and she went back in. She has been bucking non stop for other people!!

Sweet Tart died from her tendon being cut. Ok so I went there to side walk and the vet was there. We walked in and Sweet Tart was there in the wash area with an open cut on her back leg. My friend who loved her was there too. Delaney was crying. We wraped up her leg up and the vet stitched it. Then the vet came out like 3 days later and said there is nothing we can...She cut her tendon. So she had to be put down July 3. We all miss her.

Back in the saddle

Wednesday last week was my first day in the saddle. (: From vacation anyway. I was planning on doing a really good ground work out but since I ride morning lessons on wednesday I had to start with jumping. Now if you don't know already Alm is a little insane over jumps so I wasn't sure how he would react to me being back in the saddle. My first vertical on Alm(:

So yesterday I was in a jumping lesson. It was amazing. We were going to go to pismo after so I had to go next... I didn't think Addie was going to be raising a jump for me.. especially since she hadnt been willing for me to canter crossbars. So wen my mom asked for me to go Addie said okay.. let me raise them. More jumping- 6-27-09(w/my dog...)

So today my mom took me and my dog out to the barn.. :D My dog, is this tiny Chihuahua/Terrier/pug mix who thinks hes in charge of the world. He's never been to a barn. So when I took him out of the car and he saw the first stall with the horse Lemo in it he didn't know what to do. Her head was so big compared to him that when she sniffed him, he started to back up and then went towards her again and it was hilarious!! Riding Alms(:

So, I have this crazy in love with jumping thoroughbred. My trainer has me doing ground poles at a canter and you know he thinks he can gallop at them because there on the ground right? Well my trainer gets so mad at me because it never works out.
