That's cool that you're riding western...Daisy is actually pretty collected, and she comes to a jump well, although what we are "jumping" right now is only about 1 1/2 feet, but still, it's a good start in my opinion-we don't really have good footing to go much higher...Indigo is sooooo pretty, btw. Daisy LOVES to run, too, I think it's her favorite thing to do, so I always try to gallop her once a day, so she can get the wiggles out of her, lol. Yeah, we ordered the saddle from ebay, AND it came with a wintec elastic girth (that will hopefully fit Daisy) and wintec synthetic stirrup leathers, and the easy change gullet system, and it was only $500! It was a really good deal, because the saddle is new, too.
Hopefully you can get the bitless soon! A "friend" of mine who I made through blogging uses a bitless, and she really likes it for her horse, and my brother Markus uses a type of bitless-not the actually bitless bridle, but it's bridle type thing that doesn't have a bit...that's the buckskin horse that was on my blog at one point...
Ahh, I'm kind of rambling, sorry. I didn't really "teach" Daisy to sidepass...I think she knew how to do it with her old owner (she was ridden English and western and was professionally trained, apparently), and she just needed a good refresher. The whole time I could get her to sidepass while walking or trotting or cantering, but she just got annoyed with me if I tried from a standstill. Now I've started jumping her, then halting her after the jump, sidepassing in both directions from the stop, doing a 180 degree turn on the hindquarter, and jumping again...idk, I'm weird. It's so fun though!
If you want to see the post about the Dr. Cook's bitless, look here:

And here's a little bit about it, too:

^^Hope you find those a little interesting, ;-).
Talk to ya soon!
Daisy is AMAZING right now-I just finished riding her and we worked on sidepassing, and she can now sidepass in either direction from a standstill...big improvement...
AND MY MOM ORDERED THE WINTEC 500! EEEEEK!!! YEY!!!!!
So how are you and Indigo? What are you doing with him lately?
Thanks
~Emma
