Hometown:: Lorane, Oregon

About Me:: I was born in 1954 and I got my first horse/pony in 2001: Nootka Rose, a 4 year old registered half Welsh mare...and of course since she needed a pasture buddy, I also purchased Pruitt's Shadow of Dixie, A Welsh mountain pony that was lame and had been used as a brood mare. Dixie was bred when she came to us, so shortly after her arrival I was blessed with the experience of foaling and a newborn Welsh pony colt. I sold him to Christy Cruise, a hunter-jumper trainer who has done an excellent job with him.
Being a novice horseperson/rider at such a late age, Rose and I had a lot to learn and teach each other about the horse/human connection.
Recently, I "inherited" two more Welsh and the Lorane Welsh farm name from the original breeder, who moved to Central America to retire.
Over the past 6 years I have also managed to acquire a miniature donkey that needed companionship, a part arab gelding that the owners could no longer afford to keep (am I sucker or what???) 2 miniature horses that were donated to my high school animal assisted Prevention program, and an Anglo-arab mare that came along with the Lorane Welsh ponies. On top of all that, I had Rose bred to a Welsh cob, "Gallod Time To Go", this summer so we are expecting another arrival in 2008!
Needless to say, I've got my hands full!
Now that I have the Lorane Welsh farm name and several Welsh to deal with, I've become interested in the idea of showing...especially with the 2 year olds.
