About Me:
I'm Laura (: This is my third account because I can't remember my stupid passwords :/ (Don't worry, I wrote this one down). Anyway though, a little bit about me. I lease a Andalusian x Thoroughbred mare named Lola (It's a lease-to-buy; she'll be mine on New Years since December will be the last month we have to pay!) I've had her for about a year now. She's 12 years old, and when I first got her, she was saddle trained, but she was mostly a trail horse. My sister and I worked with her on jumping and flatwork, and she can jump at least 3'6" now. We've been planning on showing her, but we really haven't gotten around to it yet. We're hoping we can do a few shows with our new trainer, Julie.

So now its time for a summary of all the barns and stuff I've been to in my four years of riding:
At the first barn I rode at, I learned some of the basics that I needed to know, but not nearly everything that I needed to know to do for some of the things I was attempting. I fell off Casey, the horse I was riding, and lost a lot of my confidence. I was scared for a long while to canter or jump. When we went on vacation for two months over the summer, I regained some of that confidence on a pony named Luna. When I went back to my old barn, I had some of my confidence back and began working on cantering again. I wasn't there long however, when it went out of business so that the city could use the land for other purposes. A friend of ours told us about another barn I could ride at; wagon wheel. I began riding there, as well as another barn where my trainer had moved to. At wagon wheel, I had an amazing instructor and I worked with a lot of different horses. We soon stopped going to the other barn completely. One pony stood out to me in particular was Roxy. She was a buckskin Quarter Horse. Everything was going well for a while until she started refusing. She'd duck out of every new fence we jumped in our lessons and I started getting scared to ride her. I fell off her at least 3 times. We took another summer vacation and when we came back, I was once again a better rider. Roxy started behaving better for me, and things were going a lot better for us. Then, wagon wheel moved away too. It was so hard saying goodbye to Roxy and the other amazing horses I'd met there, and I moved on to yet another barn. At the new barn, I mainly rode a gelding named Tex. He wasn't exactly my favorite horse, and we were back with our first trainer. Then, a few months after wagon wheel had left, just after Christmas time, Roxy came to our barn. One of the other students had heard about Roxy through me, and was considering buying her. It didn't work out for them though. This, however, was a turning point in my life. Although my dad was against leasing a horse, he eventually agreed to it. Things were great, once again, until Roxy started refusing again. It didn't seem likely that she would take advantage of us like that since she was normally so sweet. After several months of falls and refusals, we figured out the problem. Her teeth were severly overgrown. This was simple to fix, and we didn't have any more problems after that. Then, once againnn, we went on vacation. I was still riding Ralla, the horse I had ridden for the past 2 years over the summers. When we came back to America, we were horseless again. My instructor found a horse fore us tolease though. Her name was Lola <3

So now were on our fourth summer here. Lola's being ridden by my friend whiule were here/.
