About Me:
My names Kaleigh. I'm a sophmore in college studying genetic engineering. I've been riding horses since I was six and i've loved every minute. I rode for the college show team along with keeping my own horse in show shape. I have a 11 year old registered paint horse named Artiste, TC for short. He's a 15.2hh gelding who I love to death. I've had TC for six years now. I broke him myself and we now show competitvely western pleasure, trail, and hunt seat. When not in the show ring I like to trail ride or go team penning. I worked at a professional barn for six years as the assistant trainer teaching lessons and breaking horses.
When I'm not riding, I love to play volleyball, ski and snowboard. I have a toy poodle named Chip who goes everywhere with me. Overall I'm a pretty fun person to get to know, and I love to have a good time.

All horse women relate to most of these:

1. On rainy days, you organize the tack room, not the house.

2. Your horse's mane and tail get better care than yours, and it shows.

3. If asked to choose between spending time with your horse or with your man, the horse always wins.

4. You save every horse magazine you ever bought.

5. You clean your tack after 'every' ride, but never, ever, ever wash the car.

6. You can dial the vet's number from memory.

7. You spend far more on your horse's shoes than your own.

8. Every time you go to t… Continue

Well let's see... nine classes, 4 1sts, that's 44 points... one DQ... 2 3rds... 16 points... and 2 classes that I don't know about. So, I know I scored atleast 60 points. That's 19 points less than last time, so hopefully the other competitors don't score higher than what I got. And even if they do, hopefully I'll still be leading overall. I can handle not winning high point of hte day, but my goal is the get high point champion of the year, so it's important that I learn from last shows mistakes and do better next show. I just realized that Sunday was the first time I ever fell off of a horse while riding English. The last 4 times Mac bucked me off I was riding Western or bareback. Weird. Upper 70's is nice weather. It's been 65-72 here lately, I'm looking forward to the upper 80's the weatherman has promised us. :D

Yeah it's a lot of work. Although it sounds like there's a lot of barns, I live in an area where you see a barn everywhere you turn. So compared to here, the bay area doesn't have a lot. And then some barns are strictly Hunter/Jumper or Dressage only. Us poor western folks have 2 settle for lesser barns. But I found great barns that are Western-friendly. And I was at the top of the circuit for the year-end high point award, but after yesterday's horrid performance in the morning I'm begging fate to let me still lead, even if it's by 1 point. See Mac bucked me off in my first class and it wasn't until after the English classes that he finally settled down. We OWNED in Western though. 1st in every class, except for the Discipline Rail class (which is seriously a game of simon says). I got 3rd in that. I'll post a blog on the whole show, there's so much to say about it. So how's everything going?
