- the names chelsea & 6 out of the 15 years of my life have revolved around horses. throughout those 6 years i have been through more than i could ever imagine. i've had moments where i thought i was in heaven & moments where i swore i was at the mouth of hell. i dont know what draws me to this sport or to these animals. what i do know is that riding & the horses that i have dealt with have changed me forever.
i think the adreniline which fills my veins exhilerates me & pushes me further into the sport. being able to feel the power underneath me as I gallop around the course trying to beat the clock or impress the judges makes me feel unconquerable.
the nose nuzzling at the palm of my hand for a treat & a warm breath lingering down my neck comforts me in any situation. when i'm frustrated & feel like the world is crumbling down on my shoulders all i need to do is sit on a horse. when i'm up there i feel like no one can touch me. i feel like the horse can understand me & that everything is going to be alright.
santana, or princess merry legs in the show ring, was my first pony. i leased her but she was my first love. she felt like mine. when i was with her i felt like i was in heaven. i was invulnerable. no one could damage us or our lives. soon i grew out of her & her owners took her away to another barn. i was more then welcomed to lease her at the other barn but it was to far away. that summer part of me was taken away. & heaven became hell.
this is when i started looking for horses to buy. after a year of looking i came across a paint mare. she was a bitch... but for some odd reason i thought there was something special there. so i gave her a chance... & that one chance became 2... & soon 3. recently she decided to lose it while i was brushing her & merrily attacked me for no reason what so ever. my family & instructor had warned me about this mare. forever they tried to get me to sell her but i couldn't do it... until now. i realize my life is not worth risking.
from these experiences i have learned the most i could out of life. & i thank the horses for every moment of experience they have given me.

Bad Day @ the Barn
January 15, 2008
today was a devestating day for me. i had to give my horse away to auction. i bought cameo on november 10,2007. i bought her as my project horse... and boy did she turn out to be a project and a half! i always had hope in her and thought that no matter what things were gonna work out. that didn't happen in this case and i was put through many life risking tasks.
even though i wanted to hate her guts i just couldn't... and even now that she is gone... i still can
