- I am 18 years old and just recently moved to Lakeland, FL from Massachusetts. I own a 25 year old Appendix. He used to be my event horse, but is now retired. He has a heart of gold and only wanted to please you even though he came from a very abusive home. My main picture is of a horse that I was training about a year ago. He now lives with his Mom in Jupiter, FL. I have been riding for about 10 years. I am in the process of training my Mom's gray to be sold. I have always loved horses and always will.

One of the guys at work asked why I needed lessons after 15 years of riding, when he went on a trail ride and was shown how to ride in 5 minutes.
This guy happens to play golf. I said I knew how to golf: you put the ball on the grass, smack it with a club to see how close you get it to the hole.
He said I didn't know how to golf. I said " If you can ride, I can golf."

I love my guy dearly, I understand though about your case cause my old horse was a 21 year-old appy who had navicular that loved to do it and just couldnt do it anymore. (i actually had to retire him out of a show because he was too lame to compete even with bute). We retired him and he now lives in a big pasture with a "blonde" girlfriend. but who knows maybe when you are out of college you will be able to go back to competing at a higher level.
