Well, if you're lucky enough to own your own, or ride an Arabian, what's your favorite part about them?

My favorite part about my horse, Monty, is his serious side (he knows when it's time to be serious, during lessons etc.) and his funny side...no not the horse. ;) Anyway, he's good at tons of stuff and will do almost anything I ask..as long as it's not scary and if I do it first. For the longest time we couldn't get him to lunge over the tarp, so I walked over it to "show" him it wasn't scary, and he just walked right over it to me! What a goofball.

My arab Abra is almost the same. It wasn't always like that, I fell in love with him at camp when he was a lesson horse so my dad bought him. After he turned into a nightmare! It took us a year to work everything out and now hes so good! He and I are bonding and we jump with out a saddle and it feels like we are flying! He may be one of the smallest horses at the barn, but e can blow all those others away when it comes to the fast jumping and fast turing! He didn't start out as my dream horse, but man my little arabian is my dream horse now! I just love him so so so so much!!!

Yay! I'm glad you got everything worked out between you two! haha. Why did he turn into a nightmare?

We think it was because he was used to being ridden everyday when he was a lesson horse, then when we bought him I couldn't get to ride him everyday and went on weekends he then didn't like to work. Somthing like that. We also didn't have a good bit for him. He tended to ignore it.

Oh. That makes sense.

But know we are at the new barn and we're getting lessons, and now he goes round and jumps the jumps with out rushing, he is really good know I wouldn't sell him for a million years!

That's good. Monty still hasn't gotten over the rushing...maybe it's just me....

My first horse was an arabian thoroughbred cross named Sha-mar. We got him when I was five and he was 6. He taught me a lot! My favorite memory of him is playing with him in his pasture. He would chase us and then we would chase him, kinda like tag. He loved it. He loved skittles and would pin you in a corner until he got to eat the WHOLE bag:) He was very smart, he knew how to unlock his stall and how to get into the chest freezer where we kept the horses grain (when we finally figured out it was him we put a chain on it). He also had a great since of humor. One time my friend dared me to canter him bareback with no halter/leadrope, nothing. So I got on him and asked him to go. He got into the middle of a nasty mud hole and cowkicked and bucked and hopped until I was all the way up on his neck holding on with my arms and legs wrapped around his neck and then picked his head up and flung it down. I was laughing so hard I couldn't hold on anymore so I ended up covered in mud. He died of colic when he was 21. I miss him. The horse I have now is a quarter horse who looks a lot like Sha-mar. He act's like him too. Sometimes I wonder if he came back to me:) Thanks for this topic, it brought back a lot of great memories of my first best friend.

haha sounds like all arabians are a lot alike! my favorite thing about my horse Lakota is her goofy side. shes a flea bitten grey with a white/straw colored mane so we tend to call her the dumb blonde...lol. i went trail riding with her one day and she doesnt really have that great of an attention span so were walking along and she was paying attention to everything BUT where she was going. long story short...she ended up walking into a stop sign and then flung all 4 feet out like whoa whered that thing come from. it was pretty funny. at the same time i love how she can be serious and put in 110% when i ask her too. shes just amazing! it takes special ppl to own these special horses...thats 4 sure ♥

I love how much energy my Zanka has. She could go forever and she most definately go anywhere I asked her too. She's so willing and smart. I have to change the type of knots I use all the time cuz she will figure out a way to get loose. She is also extremely friendly. I had my two year old nephew and cousin riding her when she was just being trained and she was completly calm and quiet. I absolutely love her!

Abra is really doing great now we have been riding bareback with no bridal just leads attached to his halter... its amaziong at how far he and I have come! We have even started jumping like that its great I love him to death!

I lease an Arab Susuddio and I love her to death! My favorite thing to do on her is jump the cross country jumps on he bareback! She gets all excited and just flies over the jumps! But we have some pretty funny times like the time we were riding and she spooked over a tiny little yellow butterfly that was around the size of my thumb that flew out from behind a tree. That moment has me still laughing when i think of it today.

I have my very own arabian Sox, and my favorite part about riding him...and for all arabians is that there really fast learners and the most important thing is for me is that they can do any discipline you want them to do! either it be hunter, jumper, western, equitation, halter, dressage, eventing, and anything else, they can do it all! i do hunter and equitation with my horse and hes sooo good at it! hes only been showing for 2 years now, but he acts like hes been doing it his whole life! i love him and there will never be another horse to replace him!♥
