Ok, look. I know that there are about a gizzilion forums about horse slaughter, but I have to make my point clear. Horse slaughter is wrong. It is cruel. Even if there is a crazy horse that can't ever be touched, at least it has a home. And you know what, I bet you someone will try to calm that crazy horse down and create a bond with it. Or at least I would. And some people throw their horse away just because it can't jump anymore, or it isn't fast enough. Well you know what, my quarter horse can barely jump 3' and my mare can barely trot with someone on her back. But that doesn't mean that I'm going to throw them away. Why would you throw and innocent horse's life away? Why? Horses deserve to live, and if they mess up, give em' a second chance. And if they mess up again, give em' a third chance, a fourth, a fifth, a sixth, and I could keep going, but i have horses to save...

If you search hard enough on the web, or practicaly anywhere, there are horse petitions that cleary state that if there are a certain amount of signatures, that they would send the form to important people. And even though that doesn't seem like a lot, every signature counts. One signature could mean that one more horse could have a life. Please consider this forum and leave a comment. Nobody is going to change my mind, and I don't wish to make you mad at me or upset because of my opinion. But I just want people to realize the harm that is done to these animals. I will be updating this disscussion every once in a while with new pictures and information. All of my information I give out, will be nothing but the truth. !STOP HORSE SLAUGHTER! I clearly understand where your coming from and I would never wish that upon any horse, or would never give any horse away to that because it can't preform to it's full potential etc. but you have to understand that it has a purpose. I think there was recently an article in the newspaper on how about 500 horses a day were slaughtered in the United States, since these slaughter houses have closed, the horse industry is flooded. Theres a huge over abundance of horses, and now the horses that are 'unwanted, or crazy horses, or the ones people can't afford' can no longer go to slaughter, where death is instant, instead they now are neglected and starve to death, which is a slow extremely painful death, and tons of suffering. Though I'd never want any horse to go to slaughter but if I had to choose a way for a horse to die, it be instant rather then a long drawn out death in which the horse suffers. Now the horses that do go to slaughter have to ride in overpacked trailers down to Mexico and Canada, in which there are no rules or regulations on the health of the horse or anything. I'm definitely not for it. I just think that when we made the decision to close the slaughter houses in the US we should have been ready for the consequences. I think if we really wanted to bring slaughter to an end we should of like weaned off the number of horses being slaughter each year until there were none. because now the industry is suffering, so are horses, and now instead of not being slaughtered they just have to travel a long ride to mexico or canada in horrible conditions. I was very against the slaugther of horses and I'm not for it now or anything, I just think when you have the facts that your opinion changes, not making you for it, but in my opinion I'd rather have a horse have an instant death rather then a long painful one.

Well hopefully the over population of horses will go down and people will stop breeding so much because it seems like nobody wants to spend alot of money buying a horse! They need that extra money for spending it on the essentials needed to keep on going like gas and groceries. You probably already know that the economy is doing horrible and a lot of people are paying more for groceries and gas than before. I agree with you and im just hoping people wont breed so much because not that many people are willing to buy a horse now since everything has gone up in price!

I know what you mean. But you see, if a horse needs to be put down for any reason, it doesn't need to go through slaughtering which is rather painful. It should be put down instantly like you said! Thanks for commenting.

No prob! yea i agree that if a horse needs to be put down, they need to do it quick and pain free, like they do when people put down older horses or the horse is in a lot pain! Although i still do respect Bees opinion, but i dont agree with it.

Exactly my point! I respect Bee, but even if an older horse say has a bad leg, I would certainly do anything I could before putting him/her down.

yea and if i did have to put the horse down, it would be as pain less as possible for the horse! i dont agree at all that people have to go through the whole slaughter thing just to kill a horse...just give it a shot and not make it go through that pain! at least a shot is quick and painless for the horse!

Yep! They should be put down because they're too old to walk, or if they have a problem that is effecting their life seriously that nobody can do anything, but they should be put down instanly. Not just skinned alive for meat. But a peaceful way to heaven!
