there so many of them and what are the even for most of them just look like decoration

They are to protect the horse's legs when they are working. In the show ring (I ride English), at the big shows, we usually put them on jumpers and equitation horses. For equitation at A rated shows, they need to look nice, which is why they are so fancy and such. I bought a very nice pair off a girl at the barn, very cheap, and that's where I use them. However, when I'm just riding at home, I use polo wraps. Cheap and easy...just as I like it :)

i use woof brushing boots and they are amazing! they give a lot of support but you would never notice unless you ride your horse without them and see the difference. and they give a lot of protection if they hit there legs with the jump.
