My instructors make sure we all eat in the morning before we go out and get the horses trailered, but once we get there I'm excited and ready to go to the warm up ring, and then after I've warmed up and everything I want to have nap time, but like the division before mine I go temporarly insane talking to myself or trees or singing random songs I've never sang before. People must think I do drugs or something before all my classes haha
i agree with kaylin. i never eat until my last class is over. but i think it's better that way, i think i'm too nervous to keep food down before a show. right before my class, i like to ride my horse off to a private part of the grounds and just talk to him for a while and relax. sounds crazy, but it really helps me calm down and concentrate.
im a really superstitious person so i get really nervous if my routine changes before a show lol. i never go out the night before until i get home at like 10, i dont eat before my show, and i always ride up with my friend from the barn or my trainer. i wont drive up with anyone from my family and i dont let them come lol. Im really really insane about making sure everything is exactly the same as the show before because of my weird superstitions
i loooove shows. i am pretty relaxed unless i have an aderaline rush... but i dont really get nervous. I event but dressage is the worst for me cause im always getting on too late or too early... and then for stadium im always early! timing is the worst part for me cause im braiding like an hour before my ride!
I used to be very nervous before my classes but now I get more excited before my classes then anything, and sometimes really bored when I have to wait for my turn to do the/a course, and most of the shows I go to they have milkshakes so that is the only thing I eat (-:
Ive been showig for 8 years, 5 years on the A circuit through ontario, and no matter what I always throw up after I ride.
Its only when I show A. I cant control it, I immediately begin to gag after my first round and when I have to do the jump off.
Nothing helps, but Ive gotten used to it also. And my horse dosent seem to mind me gaging on his back.
well shes not the only one! i do the same thing!
i throw up at my first show, and i almost throw up during my jumping class but i just kept it in and sucked it up! i got 2nd place on that coarse too!
Same, i don't eat at all (besides maybe a pretzel) beofre i show! I get super nervous on my drive over btu them i am so busy i cant worry about that. so when im getting on i get so nervous and when my trainer tells me i am next i practically pee myself lol. but when i get the 1st course over i am all good ahha. I get all worked up but i LOVE shows, especially away ones where you party in hotels haha!
I am class of 2010 but I graduated a whole semester early so now i'm considered class of 2009! I'm going to start taking classes at ACC until it's time to go off to college at Meredith Manor International Equestrian Centre. It's in West Virginia. ...
